oh dont worry i will be making a small poffit on these, but i dont want to be too greedy as i seem to remember you having a grudge against me jon a while back in another thread, accusing me of being to dear with stuff and only thinking about my own pocket, so i dont want to upset anyone. as for the postage colin no it doesnt include it but if im right in thinking neither does the oppositions prices. the postage will only be a few pounds anyway.;)

As I said in the last post along time ago nothing wrong with profit its what makes the world go round. Its just at what percentage to be competitive is the problem now days. You would prob be better off buying your panels from Martin M in bulk for a special price so you can restore your vans alot quicker and cheaper.;)
I think its great what you did re making panels for these vans and agree that many people would have strugled with new metal. But its like when the likes of "ASDA" open a big supermarket with there own brands in a little town it dont take long before all the little shops close the doors as you can buy from the supermarket alot cheaper than the corner shop. There is no middle man either so its a no brainer really.
There is deffinately room for you both to work on the vans though as your either ends of the country. So lets stop this compeating marlarky and just have a re think about which direction you should go as your never going to take MR M out just hurt your pocket in the process, no body wants that[V]

i know what your saying, but if you or anyone else was in my boots you would feel exactly the same way as i do. i have tried my hardest over the last three years to try and build up a little business and website which caters for this market of panels etc, and i have put alot of my own hard ernt money into it trying to get stuff re-produced to a high standard for everyone else to benefit from when restoring there vans.like i said, i havent just got bucket loads of cash to throw around buying all the best machinery etc, but what i have bought like jigs and castings etc still cost a small fortune. and if you remember and look back to one of the very first postings on here about three or four years ago, under the parts for sale section, martin and admin put a post on praising me and saying where has this guy been all this time, which proves i was the first person to start the ball rolling with regards re-produceing panels. i know martin is a big fan of these vans and probably always will be, but we had this argument a year or so ago where my understading was that he was going to stick to suppling parts rubber trim etc, and i was going to supply the panels, that way we would not tred on each others toes and we would both be ok with regards orders etc. i kept to that agreement and over the last year or two have given martin plenty of orders for parts etc for vans im restoring giving him my business. now all of a sudden hes trying his best to monopalise the market and knock the smaller firm out the competion so he can thrive on everything himself. ask anyone about how they feel about bigger firms like tescos knocking smaller shops into the ground, and i think you will find that the answer to the question is that they dont really like it. and last of all you say about me buying panels from him direct in bulk and cheaper i think you will that after all thats gone on he probably wont want to sell any to me for one , and where will it stop, should i stop getting seats re trimmed for people as well and let him take that from under my nose as well. if thats the case and people think i should then maybe im in with the wrong crowd and shouldnt be in business or here at all. No ones saying that big man all im saying is try re thinking your bussiness. The commer market is very small anyway so why not open your doors to other classics. There is nothing wrong with you offering to get seats trim etc. Carry on with the commer stuff but lets stop this compeating as all its going to do is hit you in the pocket. You will never be the sole supplier for anything commer or any other classic unless you have bucket loads of money. So just carry on doing your little bits and perhaps a few other things. As long as it covers your overheads, bills with a bit of proffit whats it matter[?]

I have sat quietly whilst Woolfy slags me off over the last few weeks and thought it about time I replied to him. I don’t normally air my grievances on the forum, it spoils it for the rest of us.
Firstly, any agreement we may have had, went out of the window a long time ago. Woolfy has quite often put posts on the forum, saying ‘ I have some of those in stock’ in one case someone wanted a water pump, both my price and Speedys, is £60. He offered one at £50 from his stock. I didn’t go off on one, just let him get on with it.

Secondly and most importantly, I told Woolfy a long time ago, that the flutes in his panels were not correct and if he sorted this out, I would buy them from him. This was never done, so I had a tool made to do them correctly - this is where this all started. The evening I put that on the forum, I got an abusive text from him, threatening to wipe out my business. I still have the text, should anyone wish to see it. He always seems to forget to mention, that it was me that lent him a full set of new panels to copy, in the 1st place.

I am not out to monopolise anything, it’s a free market country. I don’t complain about Speedys or Ratsport selling spares, we buy and sell between each other. People will choose who to buy parts and panels from, we can’t force them.

Woolfy goes on about me having ‘shed loads of money’. I work 7 days a week for what I have and always have. It’s nothing to do with him what I have, or have not. I invest my hard earned money wisely, how I do that is up to me.

Both myself and Woolfy, have put hundreds of hours of our own time and large amounts of money, into keeping Commers on the road, we do it because we love the vans, not for huge financial gain. If that was the case, let’s be honest, we would pick something far more lucrative than Commers.

I’m not bothered if Woolfy wants to sell parts, it might even help him stay in business (he keeps telling us he’s giving up). The Commer community wouldn’t be the same if everything was monopolised by one person.

So Woofy, please wind your neck in, stop having a go at your customers and think of this as a business opportunity.

I've just posted on the Woolfy's dodge thread then read this one and Martin's response. Thought I'd copy across the salient part of my other post as I think it applies to each and every one of us:

"I don't understand why anyone would choose to air their dirty linen in public? If anyone has an axe to grind with anyone else it can/should be dealt with via PM directly to the person concerned.

Winter's on it's way and there's unlikely to be any meets for a good while so most contact will be via here. Can't we keep the forum a friendly, fun and informative place to be eh?"

thats fair enough baz and i know where your coming from:) but you cannot expect a person to be put down so many times without finally hitting back:( no it should not of been brought up on the forum in the first place but its only fair to see both sides of the coin;) hopefully this will be the end of it and as you say baz get back to a friendly fun forum[^][8D]

My point being that if anybody has an axe to grind with anybody else this is not the place. I'm not taking sides, I'd expect everyone to 'take it outside' so to speak.
