You had me worried there:I It would put things back a bit and a bit of a race for Pandy if they were (at the rate I work)
Still while I'm waiting for the bits I can fit the Maltas jacking point to Bonnie:)
God I annoy myselfe sometimes, so much time wasted faffing about. I went out and bought a socket to get the crankshaft pulley bolt off because the dirty big ring spanner I've got was slipping. I took the bolt off Harvey's old engine to make sure I got the right size - guess what....it was diffferent. The trouble was I fitted the bolt with the starting handle dog (off the original engine) and its a bigger head, the one that was on the old engine was the original Rapier item:I Eventually a bit of patience with the old ring spanner and a 2lb hammer and the bolt was off[8)]

I thought it was just me that seemingly wastes so much time getting little things wrong like that.........really annoying isn't it, in a wierd way, its satisfying to know you are human like us poor mortals :D it's how we all learn though isn't it:D

I'm a tad miffed[V]
Today was the start of the engine re-build and it all started so well, the pistons cleaned up well and I fitted the new rings without any problem. Lots of scraping old gaskets off and de-glazing bores it was time to put the crank back in. Speedies had everything I needed so i got it all as a job lot - rings, mains big ends and oil pump all shiny and new. I cleaned up the crank, oiled it up and was about to crawl underneath to fit it when I decided to try the bearings first - the mains were fine but the big ends were slopping around like a sloopy thing on sloppy day, obviously the wrong size.........and I've just realised what I've done[8)] I quoted the sizes for the two different sizes of main bearing by mistake, I bagged the big ends up neatly and picked up the wrong shell when I was ordering:I - Back on the phone Monday for some +040" ones[8)]
The daft thing is I checked when I was taking the end caps off during the strip down and saw what size they were, I thought I was imagining it when I was ordering the bits:)

It should have clicked when the woman at Speedies kept saying it was a main bearing code number, but I was insistant:I

OOps! how frustrating for you![:(!] I know someone who will feel a tad embarrassed on Monday and I also know a woman who will smugly say ''Told you so'':D[}:)]:D:I

I've got to admit full responsibily so I deserve the smugness, but the ebay ones do seem cheaper:I

Actually it's a stupid mistake to make[V], but thanks for the thought. Serves me right for trying to be tidy and bagging things up - I loose things that way - best to leave them all over the floor and trust to luck:I
