The weather wasn't too promising but I was determined to get something done so got togged up and went outside, and it stopped raining[8D]
I tried to get the door hinge screws out by applying heat from a blow torch and attacking them with first a fully charged drill on impact mode and then my impact wrench (it's not bust after all:I) and a 2lb hammer, all I did was blister the paint, chew up the screw heads and bend the screwdriver bit:I So another approach was needed. I split the last couple of spot welds with a bolster chisel and attacked the step with my Aldi lekky saw, ace bit of kit[8D]
I left some of the step in place with a view I could weld it back on, good solid metal at that point, about the only bit left on the panel[xx(]
The good news is the floor is perfect
[8D]
The spot welds holding the floor to the inner cill were easy to find and duly drilled out. Most of the inner has been removed with just the end bit that runs upto the front left to remove. Progress was interrupted (most welcome) by Jimmy (macker1) and Ivan (screwloos) who arrived bearing a most welcome gift from Martin[^]
Howz about that then, the Mk1 Maltas step which will soon be attached to Bonnie
Here it is along side the Mk1 Maltas inner step, they go together perfectly
Reverse side of the inner, note the extra little panel at the bottom, a touch that sometimes gets forgotten as it disintergrates.
Really enjoying getting stuck in again, especially when you've got the right bits to work with[^]
Just had a thought Ivan, iVan, an iPod with rust and fewer elecronics:I
