good job you can't see my 'botg' ....could probably completely fiil Harvey!....if, you strip all those cupboards out again:D:D

Good progress John[8D]

That extra wide bed is kind of how I had thought we could do our bed, I think Cazz has an idea different to that though...

I've spent the last few weeks sorting out a few little jobs, the new Commeracer fuel tank is now in and everything connected up - I even remembered to blow the fuel line through to get rid of the last of the crap within:I It fitted a treat, the worst bit was connecting the short hose on the fuel filler pipe in the wardrobe.

A bit of floor I hope I won't see for a long time. Aquasteel. two coats of primer, Smoothrite and a generous coating of waxoil after this pic was taken - now all hidden by the tank[^]

I dug the doors out from the accumulated junk (useful stuff:I) and fitted the new window channel - not forgetting the little brackets on the ends that secure them to the door. I bought some weather strip ages ago and cut it to size but I couldn't find the clips:I But then I spotted a pair of Mini weather strips on the shelf - nice chrome finished ones (you know me and bling[8D]) they where exactly the right length. Well I had to try them - it would be rude not to:). The fitting is different as they push fit onto the top edge of the door skin whereas the Commer skins have a downward facing top edge so the seals are clipped on from below - if you catch my drift - so a little mod was needed.

I folded a piece of sheet to get the right thickness to take the trim clips

And tacked it into position

The trim offered up

The window seal and trim needed cutting back to fit under the quarter light and the front end will need securing with a small selftapper but I think the finished article will look pretty good[8D]

Sure nice to catch up on Harvey - although reckon I'll need 2010 to completely catch up on your progress! that woodwork sure looks familiar ;) coming up a treat - that Danish Oil's good stuff...

Bessie - four star commerdation

Thanks chaps:)
I used the Danish oil on the oak flooring in the hallway at home, I did it about ten years ago and it still looks good - hard wearing stuff and it brings out the grain of the wood beautifully[^] Not as effective on light wood, like pine, but on the beech and oak veneer of the interior wood it works great.

Well done john, liking the trim addition...youll soon be cooking bacon sarnies in harvey....:D

Going to OZ....Then i can have another Commer

Now the temperature has crept above freezing Harvey has had a wee bit of attention. A new handbrake cable (courtesy of Martin, great item and very reasonably priced[^]) went on without too many drama's. Also started constructing a new thermostat housing with an additional fitting for a temperature switch for the lekky fan - the water pump housing will soon be on it's way to Tim for a few mods. A new plastic rear door catch plate went on - one of the captive nuts was turning so turned into an awkward little job - and re-made the throttle cable bracket extension that was needed when the rad was moved forward. The first attempt flexed when the throttle was applied but this one won't - it's made out of 1/4" plate[}:)].
Barb has been itching to get involved (apart from the moral support and some extremely useful advise) and is making come new cushion covers. The material is very thick and she's having a hard time but the results so far are superb[^] She recons they look like the seats from an old coach - not a bad thing:).

Always to har your updates John:) When I put a new door stricker on Smurf the bolts had rusted....had to drill them out and fit new ones.
glad to hear Barb has finally the chance to be hands on with the cushions & curtains:) cazz did Smurfs and is not really that way inclined but was so proud with the results:D
