It's not bad - a tiny shade lighter than the original. I've just had to get some more mixed, probably be a shade darker:I

Did a bit of upholstery today:) I fitted Bonnie's new seats but the weren't as comfy as they looked, you could feel the frame through the padding and looking underneath the diaphragms were way passed there best and virtually every hook had pulled through[V].

The remnants of one of the seat bases.

Now Bonnies original seats were OK - if you liked beige vinyl but the cushion pads underneath were perfect and just happened to be a perfect size (with a bit of persuasion) to fit into the new seat bases;)

I ordered a pair of new diaphragms from Alpine West Midlands and they arrived this morning[8D]
The ribbed surface you can see is the back of Bonnies original seat pad.

They are universal ones to fit various series Alpines so a few new holes needed to be drilled into the frame.
I used cable ties to stretch the diaphragm to make it easier to get the hooks into their holes. I found the bolster chisel to be the best tool for pushing the hooks into place in the frame.

I left the ties in place as I thought the more support the better.

the finished article. The seat bases are a little over-stuffed but the are dead comfy[^]

I carried on with a bit of upholstery as a change from getting paint in my eyes from splashing chassis black around underneath Bonnie:I

Harvey lent Bonnie his front trim as a pattern

Nice work John, did you use glue or a staple gun?

looks a nice bit of 'ice' going on in Bonnie's dash:)

Thanks chaps:)
I used a staple gun, bought a cheap one from B&Q and killed it in a day with half a dozen staples left to do[V] They did exchange it though:)
The round speakers are what's left of the CD player that was one installed - it burst into smoke last week[:0] There is a rather lovely old Motoroler in the dash that isn't wired up but it's nice to look at. I'll probably re-do the speaker panel and just leave the chrome speaker grille in place.
