If you liked the carrot wine them stand by your beds! I have better! home made moonshine, hard to describe but I built a still from a pressure cooker and a large coil of copper and distilled a few gallons of home made scrumpy, I hoped to make calvados but ended up with something somewhere between gin & vodka, Its been maturing for about 6 months now, its certainly an experience. I gave a litre to one of the lithuanian farm workers - he lived to tell the tale so I think its ok - I have dabbled in it from time to time without injury!

Apologies chaps - the Dog will not be making it

I picked up the water pump - it didnt fit as the outer casing was oversized compared to the original

so I went and bought a grinder and fettled it to fit - hooked it all up, running lovely, pumping perfectly I left the thermostat out to make sure

all packed and ready to go, I said to charlotte, I will just go and fill up with diesel

got 9 miles before the gauge went into the red - however I did get 50mph for the first time ever

As I hit 50 I was aware of my feet getting wet as hot water started working its way in through the cowling, even with the kenlowe on overide

got home to find the rad half full and everything blimmin hot

Im really stumped now.

Engine overhauled, new pistons, new bearings, new valves,re-cored rad, overhauled everything, new water pump, new air ducting, new air filter, new fuel filter.

Im not sure what to do next

out of interest, at the output from the rad (the bottom) the hose goes to a small cast thing which then connects to the engine block inlet via another short length of hose, is there anything in this widget that could be blocked???

So many members seem to be having trouble with overheating I think I will ask Martin to convert Lulu to a VW air-cooled engine so that I don't have the same problem. What I can't understand is that when I had my last commer I could drive from Yorkshire to mid Wales, up some very steep hills and never had any problems with over heating. Sorry, I know it doesn't help your problem which must be a GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR problem

flushing the cooling system tomorrow (again) and taking off that widget between the radiator outlet and the engine block inlet to see what it blimmin is

any views on the hypothesis that my engine might be running too lean - thus causing the overheating?

the thing with the perkins 4108 is that the timing is all via gears, if they have never been tinkered with it should all be good - however the fuel pump spill timing could be an issue

Come on, come on, it's now 01:52 am and there's no reports about how the meet is going. I've just got in from the local and expected loads of reports, but so far nothing, nil, zilch, zero,
