well chris it goes like this, leave in glorious sunshine and roast on way down, arrive just over an hour later and roast whilst setting up awning, relax and chill and meet and talk, retire for the evening, RAIN RAIN HEAVIER RAIN EVEN HEAVIER RAIN, rapidly seperate van from awning because its leaking between the two, RAIN LIGHTENING MORE RAIN SLEEP, get up and drizzle, dries up so i level up the van and reattach the awning, the others all go out for run to brecon, swampster has a crash on returning due to diversion set up because someone had a fatal accident just up the road from the campsite, we go for pub supper as do most of the others because its RAINING, THEN REALLY HEAVY RAIN WHICH I THINK KEPT MOST OF US AWAKE!! apart from the small showers i think we made the most of it, and had a good wkend cheers Bazz, ps. we had a great run there and back with no probs or traffic with swampster in convoy behind us coming back!

Dont try and lead me astray....i know the way myself!!

Cheers Nath I like a bit of rain :I:D[}:)]:D

Thanks to Baz and Andy for a Wicked Commer Weekend (Hope that's not a trademark)
The weather did it's best to put everyone off but we're a hardy bunch, we have to be really, Commer owners are never pessimists!
Did anyone have a van that didnt leak? (even the pub did so dont be shy)
It was really nice to meet everyone, put faces to names and all that and hope to see you all again soon:D

Mike & Mandy.

My van didn't leak, but there again didn't work for most of the weekend either. Nearly home now with Babs on the recovery truck.

Got back a couple of hours ago and still waiting for the photos to upload to photobucket.

Peggy made it back under her own steam. Turns out the reason she was behaving like her gasket had gone was that somehow the plugleads to no3 and no4 had been swapped, not trying to drum up more business were you Martin? :D

Huge thanks to Nancy who called the RAC out (we thought to relay us to the site but he got Peggy sorted). The guy even went home for a piece of hose as the bypass split. He then followed us all the way back to the site which was lucky because at the top of a big hill we stopped by a puddle to check the carb. After he'd sorted the carb we set off to drive through the puddle and rejoin the road.

Unfortunately welsh roadside puddles actually hide cavernous trenches which try to swallow Commers head first! As Mr RAC was hooking up his tow-rope to Peggy's rear end Nancy leapt out to get a photo of Peggy with her snout in the hole but she was too late. Suffice to say that Peggy no longer has much of a front valance. She did scoop some mud off the bottom which settled nicely on top of her front bumper (it really was that deep!).

Everyone was expecting us to return on a low-loader so it was with pure unbridled self-satisfaction that we drove onto the site unassisted.:D

I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and despite a few downpours overall the weather was pretty good over the weekend. Great to meet some new faces and also to see the 'older' ones again.

Those who weren't able to make it really missed out. It's likely that Andy and I will do it again next year. We didn't get quite as many as I originally hoped but the campsite owners seemed pleased with us all anyway.

Next stop on the Commer Express? Did someone say Blackpool? [8D]

Thanks for a lovely weekend. :)

It must say it was much less stressful awaiting the RAC in a commer that wasn't my own Tramps! I will try and get some photos up of the welsh puddle, although Peggy had aleady made her exit by the time I got a pic.

I managed my 40miles home without any problems. Running smoother after martins adjustments, but seemlingly doing 45mpg again and running colder than usual[?]

T'was lovely hitching rides in harvey, peggy and rosie. Thanks [8D]
