I haven't had a proper look i will take the fuel lines of later as i need to replace then and re route them so it goes to a new mid filter and then king filter and the pump so i know that the fuel is deffinatly clean and iv got the electric ignition nd mite fit that aswell. Iv tapped the bottom of the tank to listen for any fluid but it was very hollowy, opened cap and dident smell of anything. If i have a hole in the tank which i doubt because of it being sort of dry stored , how much would a new one be?

Could save you loads of grief later. They tend to rot out on the top right where you cant see it. Its only six bolts and a pipe clamp. I would also replace the filler pipes as you dont know how perished they are inside and you dont want it to split.

Ahah i will drop it if its not to hard to do try and hang it up and run a strong wd40/petrol mix through to flush ot out replace perished pipes and put back on , if its rotten on that top bit i will probably get a new one

As Jim says go Halogen, much better than the old sealed beam units and cheaper too
indicator bulbs what size?
Best to take one out and take it to Halfords
do you need a skylight in top bunk sleeper bit? Or is it dangerous?
Only if who ever is sleeping up there is claustrophobic
is it better to run a k&N filter?
Yes
are lowering blocks safe?
No good as spring is on the wrong side of the axle
wiper blade size?
14"
and is it worth converting it to unleaded?
Don't bother use additive unless you are going to do mega miles towing a caravan

hey, they look really nice Thankyou so much for youhelp everyone it will soon start to make some real progress I checked the tank earlier and theres no rust on it and the rubbers look decent from filler to tank, the fuel line is metal I think I couldent see to well. any suggestions on what size the fuel lines are and where is best place to buy them ?

Fuel line is normally a hard plastic, and the fittings are 1/4" bore (6mm). Any decent ethanol proof hose will be fine

Hi luke, welcome from up north. Could i ask if the man you got the commer from had a bt van as well. The reason i ask is i bought a bt van from this neck of the woods and while collecting it i noticed a van just like yours sat nearby. I asked if it was for sale and the chap said it was promised to a friend. Be a coincidence but could be your van. It sounds to be coming along really well by the way. I wish i had your energy.

Im guessing you bought the spacevan in yellow that was a complete wreck? if so I have the camper that was parked next to it The yellow spacevan was meant to mine until I saw how rotten it was. he sold it to someone for £150 as is and he let me have the camper.

Hi mate, yes that is the van i bought, small world eh? I am using the best bits from kuu and the viking conversion commer i bought a few months back to build a camper. I must be mad but i want to put a perkins in it as that is what was in my slyder that i had back when i was 18. Hopefully these vans or parts of in our case will bump into each other sometime? Will post some pics on here when i learn how to.
Thats a very small world aha i work at Perkins but we don't have refurbs anymore not for about 6 years. Best bet is to find a 4108 on ebay
Also just bought an RC40 exhaust for £20 nearly new for Ilene and an air filter and maybe a new carb
just need to buy a decent mig welder to really get the welding started!
