25mm CDS tube with a threaded insert welded in the end, this screws onto the Commer gear shaft and can be used to adjust the gear lever fore/aft position, held with a locknut
One linear sliding bearing, this allows both axial and radial movement ( Colin that's back and forth and round and round ). This bolts to an angle bracket which is welded to the chassis.
The bearing is held with circlips and replaceable to allow for wear.
Looks like this on the van. The nut on the end is to give something to hold it with when doing up the locknut.

Well it's got 7 gears there Not a bad shift either, a little quick fore/aft, but seems to work well. I'm losing alot of movement because the Colonel's front bush is non existent [xx(]. Overall very successful

Dodgeyslyder is going to get a 5 speed Getrag box (behind the redtop ) so this is definitely for the Colonel.
Firstly, the award for most stupidly placed poorly designed ill thought out bolt goes to....................................... the bottom o/side one in the front gear shaft bush holding bracket [V][!][xx(][}]
After eventually getting it off, i've replaced the bush with a bronze one, which has much improved the shift and taken all the slop out [^]
Apart from welding the bracket on, that's it
Now to sort the prop

My knuckles have just about healed after 3 months...reef pain
Had to do a bid of a re-think as the bearing is starting to mark the CDS tube, and i can't get the tube to harden any more as the carbon content isn't there [V]. So made up some aluminium bronze bushes instead. Just need to put a grease nipple in there now
For future ones i will probably use a smaller diameter tube and make a hardened sleeve from EN8
