the leccie pump is ace. It means there is fuel in the float chamber when you first try to start the van, not after cranking for ages! Like I say I think I've mounted it too high so I may need to have a re-think

i thought they were gravity dependant, meant to go underneath close to the tank? i may be wrong but thats what i was told by someone when i had my sherpa

yeah that's right. I mounted mine on the little flat panel which goes from front to back and has the fuel pipe clipped to it. I think it was a bit too high, so I need to find somewhere else to mount it. Baz fitted his to the rear numberplate panel which would be ideal were it not for the fact that I'd be able to see the screws on the outside...

hmm, maybe mount it on a metal drop bracket so it will hang off the chassis rail?

yeah I think you're right. problem is it needs to be about 10" long to reach down to the bottom of the tank. I have plenty of pipe, clips and filters so I should be able to relocate it quite easily if I need to.

Something like this would be the ideal solution for you. it would be sturdy and the pump would be surrounded by the bracket so extra secure

looks good to me. I'm a little scared about drilling holes in the chassis (it's just a thing with me) so I was considering using the tank mount screws. I'll have to work out where abouts to do it probably behind the axle...

No rush, it's actually the exhaust manifold that looks dodgy:I but I'm planning on an SU conversion for Bonnie so it will come in handy.

yeah if you can use existing holes it would be best but if you do drill it, give the holes a bit of aquasteal and paint in the edges of the holes, that way it should last years without rusting lol

I noticed the link tube on the carb seems to be open (that,s the big bronze spout nearest the engine next to the overflow pipe) and it should be blocked off or you will be sucking in a mass of air ;)
