Going to set off for Dozers place early tomorrow morning to get Skye's oil leak and engine sorted.:D:D (driving there on my own)[:0][:0]

Wish her luck please cos I hope he can sort her out:(

If you're not back in a week we'll send a search party out ;) Probably be something simple like a rocker cover gasket or flame trap :).
 
do you drink tea or coffee as i will stock up ! got lots of coffee .. wot size engine did you wanna go home with :D ..people at my yard are gonna wonder if weve been invaded ????? it will be the third commer this week thats been to see me :) blokie to get the gear box & another to get his wheels ..
 
May need coffee thanks Dozer with lots of sugar:p to help stay awake on the long long journey home again if she can be sorted out on the day.[8D][8D] Ill have the fastest engine you got[}:)]:D:D:D
 
got another the same as mine:D:D mite take a bit longer than a day though[8D] .. will have kettle on for when you get here :)
 
Sure Skye and yourself(& Dozer) will cope admirably - but good luck anyway, should be a good day and valuable knowledge for future Skye maintenance ;)
 
Hi guys. We're back:D:D:D Dozer sorted Skye out. She is going back soon to have some gaskets replaced as they are leaking. My flame catcher has gone and the pipe now goes down and out through the chassis. Got new oil filter and oil. She didnt have an air filter at all[:0][:0][:0] Dozer made one up for me until he can get hold of the proper one for her. :)

And Martin - he squeezed my bulb for me:p:p Lots of water came out[^]

And - apparently ive got an original Rootes fan belt![:0][:0]

Thanks again Dozer for all your hard work and looking after me with cups of coffee.:p (Even if i did have to buy the milk lol):D:D
 
this is why it was so noisy in the cab & you couldn't hear your music...She didnt have an air filter at all ,I took Rans off the other day to see if she still kept cutting out(she did)but my ears were ringing like mad [V]
 
had fun working on debs dripping bits . very tidy little van :)puts mine to shame [V] not sure wot polish is ! tried to explain the street sleeper look but she just looked at me with glazed over eyes .. to much coffee me thinks .. she did have a big grin at being thrust back in her seat :D or mite of bin fear & i had the grin...shes right about the fanny belt it has rootes written on it with its part number ??
 
Trev. Went to ring the bells this morning in Skye. She almost started first time. It is only a few miles. When we got back in after ringing there was a smell of petrol inside. Is this ok or am I to start worrying[?][:0][:0][:0]
 
hard it was rigid .. how strong is or was the smell is there any petrol drips underneath ????? when you lift the engine cowel can you see any damp spots round the carb ???????? or any obvious signs of a leek ... split pipe ! leaking gasket etc ...
 
duh[?][?][?] Didnt lift engine cover. Would not know what to look for. Wasnt that bad when got home though.[B)][B)][B)]
 
Glad Skye sorted, sounds like she has similar problems to Bessie so would be interested to see where is best to re-route from flamecatcher to chassis if possible to take photo for me. Bessie gets strong smell of petrol about 10 minutes after parking up, think it may be from base of carb but not sure why it only smells after running and parking.

Got to look after Bessie on my own now[V] so hope to improve my knowledge too Debs;)
