I must say I'm overwhelmed with the best wishes and warm welcome from everyone. It would be interesting to me to know which commer van fans are running Highwaymans and in which county (or country) they live. I do not have mine back from Scotland yet but hope to do so this week. So I will get the ball rolling with.

Well I'm all excited now because I am flying up on Saturday from Gatwick to Glasgow (£45) to collect my Highwayman from Ross. Got it insured today through RH insurance for £102 fully comp and we're now ready to roll! I will take a camera and record the journey as best I can so I can put it on the forum. Wish me luck 486 miles to drive back!!!!
 
Hope your return journey goes better than mine and Peggy's. I'm in Watford, Herts with Peggy, a 1972 PB Highwayman.

I put 30.00 in Sybhil the other day,didn't even go to half full on the gauge [V]That use to nearly fill the new tank price just keeps going up :(the goverment will get there way eventually no one will be able to afford to run their classics [:(!]

Thanks again for all your best wishes. I have read all your comments on the trip so lets see if I can get this right!
A. I have to do the trip naked and stay under 70 mph whilst achieving 18?mpg. With a 9 gallon tank thats a fuel stop whilst nude every 150 - 200 miles. So at least 3 and possibly 4 fuel stops. If I get arrested each time this could take weeks to get home! Add on the breakdowns that seem to be forcasted and I should be home for christmas.
B. On the other hand I could drive fully clothed from Scotland to near Oxford where I am meeting some Sunbeam Tiger friends on Sunday morning. Pitch up for the night (first night in the van) and finish the journey Sunday afternoon with no breakdowns and achieving 20+mpg with the overdrive engaged all the way!
Your bets please on A or B. and I will let you know.
