1972 Highwayman MOT'd £1500

Location/distance can put some people off unfortunately.

I'M GETTING A HIGHWAYMAN !!!

I guess to many people they are a seasonal toy

can you not dry store it till the spring, then sell it?

Cheers people. Yeh I guess location does play a part. I have had a bit of interest but nothing concrete.

She is in storage now at a mates farm so at least out of the weather until the spring. To be honest if she is still here by then I will no doubt keep her. There is a guy in my town who got his apprenticeship out working on Commers so will be going to him for a full overhaul.

I am picking up another Commer in a few weeks which will be a parts doner, also will be selling bits so keep your eyes peeled for items.:)

If she does sell then all well and good but no disaster if I am left with her for the summer.;)

Thanks for all the positive and random comments:D

Oh and the most random items I have bought on ebay while pissed are too embaressing to mention!:I My missus bans me from the pc if I have been drinking. Its so easy to spend invisible money[B)]

[red]I am pleased to say that I have just bought the Commer Highwayman from Ross way up in Scotland and I am in the process of arranging to drive the 500 miles from he's house down to the South Coast. It should be a bit of an adventure and I hope the van makes it with no mishaps. Well we'll find out soon! I will post some pics and details of the journey once the van is home safe and sound.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase. It looks like you have a good'un. :)

When is your epic journey? You will get plenty of advice from others more knowledgeable than me on essential equipment for the journey, but don't forget to take a camera, we will be wanting plenty of pics. :)

Journey shouldn't be too difficult as it is downhill all the way! ;)

Highwayman by name and nature - welcome to the Madhouse:D
Trouble is you are shown to be eminently sensible with your purchase so you will have to prove yourself mad in some other way:)

Oh No! What am I letting myself in for. Everyone seems to think you have to be mad to be a Commer Van Fan! Well that suits me as my wife has told me I'm mad for years. My other classic is a Sunbeam Tiger so it has to be a Rootes Group van for me. Non of that reliable German stuff!!
I live in West Sussex near Worthing and I am only 20 mins from Goodwood. I intend to take the Highwayman to the breakfast club meeting at Goodwood in December.
The highwayman I have just bought is a 72/73 PBCM and I would like to get an original workshop manual & parts books for this model. Any offers!
Thats all for now folks!

download the manual and parts list for free from the website www.commervanfan.co.uk/mechanical.htm

You don't HAVE to be mad - but it certainly helps:I
You haven't met any of us yet have you - we seem quite normal at first but when you get to know us[}:)]
