Not entirely sure why.....

Good job Bazil, just because knowones going to see it doesn't mean it's not an important job. :) We all know you've painted it.

Thanks!

2 wheels painted and lacquered and I am very pleased with the results.
Tyres arrived so will get the rear two fitted tomorrow and get the other 2 wheels sorted ready for tyre fitting on monday.
Planning a lock-in next weekend to try and get the paintwork tidied up.

funds are dwindling away slowly :-( still got the awning, rock n roll bed, curtains..... bloody hell

Forget the paint, get everything else sorted first. At least that way you can use it:)

Got two wheels with new tyres on now.
Not sure yet if the loss of top end is worth the 2" drop....

Yokohamas 195/50's
Quite a drastic change of tyre size and ride height.

Picking up the material for the curtains tomorrow :) hopefully make some progress on that front.

Still making progress....
But getting stressful now :-(

Front wheels to fit back on tonight after work.
Many things arriving in the post that I am having to purchase.
Rachael has started the curtains and is doing a great job.

After tonight I am going to book the MOT for next week. Just need to sort out the exhaust mounts which have snapped off. I have replacements from Halfords so will get under the van and fit those.

Main concerns now are anything to do with the braking system that the MOT flags up or the electrics and also an engine oil leak and a slight leak on the clutch so fluid has to be topped up after driving for a few days.
Looking under the van the other day it appears to be coming from the ram section of the clutch under the pedal area.... I will take photos as this is new to me.

After such a long lay up the brakes will probably be sticky - hopefully not seized. Give them a good work out before you go for the MOT as they don't like gentle use, lots of vans have failed due to imballance because of this. The clutch master cylinder may have a bit of surface rust in the bore and has damaged the seals, a new kit is only a few pounds so I would get one in to be safe. a fiddly job to get the cylinder off if you haven't done it before.

Thanks for the advice Panky.

Couple of questions with pictures....

Are these original commer seat mounts?

Under the front bench seat, Should this be bolted down? There is a thread stuck up at the front but nothing for the back holes.

Am I missing a glove box? The was all hidden behind some horrible vinyl:

Never seen mounts like that before, must be a converters addition for a bench/bed. The brackets for ordinary cab seats are simple saddles that go over the frame, you can see the four holes for them on the front of the wheel arch.
There is normally a blanking plate covering that hole, for left hand drive dash. You could fit a HUGE stereo in there:)

top photo is of the mounts that held own the old seats. middle photo is of the rear of the bench seat, it extends but has holes and is as though it should be bolted down.
I assuming the normal commer seats that clamp on the front of the wheel well have no other fittings to secure them?

Surprisingly solid for a van that has been out in the weather abandoned for a few years.

So, in for a penny, in for a pound

Removed all grills, lights etc today (only windscreen and rubber left in)
Started cleaning up the cab doors which were neglected last time and have ordered new inner and outer panels.
Time to fetch the welder from storage.....
