"You,re only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off"

Giving this a miss for now. If I'm true to myself it looks more body1=work than I intended and I can't get down to see it and decide in person due to having to work the weekend. If I could get there I could maybe decide, but 2k + is a lot of money to throw at it unseen. Hope it turns out to be a good un for whoever gets it.

So has anyone actually been to have a look? Come on guys there must be someone who lives round the corner! Got to say I'm really interested, but struggling to justify a 7 hour round trip to have a look and then be outbidded. I have asked the seller to send me a load more photo's to get a better idea so it may be I'll have to make a judgement on that...

Link added to the listing today. The seller is encouraging people to view, remember there's no MOT and it looks like there will be work to do in the near future.
Rare and beautiful it is though, depends on the shade of rose your gasses are tinted with.

some decent honest pics showing what work needs doing;) peak looks to be pretty rotten:( but what a rare van for someone to give it some much deserved attention[8D]

I certainly does deserve to be given a new lease of life and good on the seller for being so honest[^], if it was a bit closer I'd be having a look myself. But some budgets are tighter than others so the work needs to be factored in long term.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to take this on, but having a new house to deal with and my mojo for more big projects and body work in particular is at a low ebb. If it was engine work and/or interior then I'd be a happy man, but the last thing i need is a rotten vehicle sitting on the drive looking accusingly at me. Without seeing it the price its gonna go for is too much to risk bringing back just that. I know any vehicle over 5 years old (and plenty newer than that) need bodywork putting right, but a complete rebuild isn't what I'm looking for.

That last comment probably isn't too far from the truth. I spoke to the seller yesterday evening and had a discussion around the whole MOT issue, seemed positive and so arranged to go and view today on the last day of the listing. Having taken a day off work and prepared for an 8 hour round trip, only to get a call this morning saying he had decided to withdraw the auction. Basically he's getting it MOT'd and putting it back on... Don't get me wrong it's entirely his choice what he sells and when but I'm quite pleased I didn't make that journey as I intended to a day or two ago. Shame is he wouldn't even consider a 'normal' sale, declining to even put an ammount forward that he'd like. Seems he's set on that pesky Ebay. Ho hum, so has anyone got a reasonable, tidy or really nice pre 72 PB they'd like to sell me? Because I want to buy one and Ebay just annoys me.

John.

He's posted up at the bottom of the ad that he's MOTing it and relisting.

Smacks to me of "it only just made the reserve and I want more dosh
".

The reserve he set was 1800 and it made that. if you want more, sell it straight or set a higher reserve.

Frustrating thing is people like you John have made plans around it. E-bay is a PITA but means both buyers and sellers get to find what they want.

Was also thinking, you couldn't cancel without a very good reason in the last 24 hours of an auction. Was the case last time I sold anything there anyway.

Oh, well, here's us both still looking! [8]
