Just got back from a 1000 mile round trip to newquay all round the cornwall coast line FANTASTIC[8D] The camper performed well untill its last 167mile stretch on its way home
The alternator bracket sheered in two places and broke away from the block where its bolted.Managed to strip it all off in the motorway services and took it to a garage just round the corner who welded it up for me
Bolted it all back on to find the belt was now not in line with the pullys after welding it up
with a few washers here and there and the belt still not quite right i managed to get him back home
Before i went i fitted a facet electric fuel pump with a filter king regulator, blanking off the part where the fuel pump fits, must have been all that power that broke it LOL!! seemed to give it a bit more power up the hills and ran alot smooter as it keeps the fuel at a constant 3psi at all times. It also made it alot better starting from warm when stopping to fuel up,which was very often as commers find all those hills thirsty work!I recon i must have put at least £300 in the tank to do 1000miles there were some mega steep hils though but it was worth it [8D]
Will post some pics i took along the way. Also got some pics to do a how to on fitting the pump if anyones intrested
