Hi Jimberlake,
The element and fan i used is from a fork lift cab heater actually but something could be made up from most old classic cars, imp/mini etc
Yes the pump seems to cope fine pushing water to the living area, my extra heater is about halfway along the load bed under a seat, I've kept it really low, sitting directly on the floor and the pipes heat up really quickly.
Guys you are angels! My heater blows hot now, which will please a certain person (and a small dog) when we escape to Cornwall over easter. (Snow on long range forecast)
I got my pipes mixed up when plumbing in an extra heater (in the living area) and an engine pre-heater in the engine...
Hi All
My heater is blowing cold, is there a recommended way to bleed the heater matrix? as the pipes both feed in from the underside it would seem impossible to remove all the air but I am open to suggestions?
Brrrrrr !
Mike
How does EWP cope with running a heater or have you got a booster pump?
Also have you ditched the manual fan completely in favour of the electric one or is the original still there?
Regards
Mike O
There's a few sites on the A38 south of Gloucester, I don't have names but I'm sure you would find them on Google Maps. Also, the best camping shop EVER is on that road - Atwools. (Google them too) Mike.
Hi all
I have had an intermittent starting problem with my van, with a fully charged battery it sometimes turns over slowly, too slow to start. If i leave it 5-10 mins it normally turns over ok and starts. This has hapeened over the last 4-5 years on occasion and I have replaced the starter and...
I forgot to say that the standard Metro needle/jet/spring combo gave a slightly weak mix at small throttle openings and a little richer further open, but we'll within limits. Rolling Road chap was very happy with mixture. and in use I am too, she needs choke to start from cold but warms up...
Hi Doug, carb is KIF44 from late model Rover Metro/100 1.4 this is the last incarnation of the SU carb and has lots of interesting features including temperature & altitude compensation and independent idle mixture control. I to make a manifold adaptor as the HIF intended by rover on the sherpa...
Conversion is homebuilt as far as I can establish, van made October 72 registered March 73. Roof is fibreglass over plywood, original was tatty so I remade with 2" more headroom in middle.
Hi Jim, Portsmouth to Santander on the ferry, avoiding the long drive through France. That said we did over 1800 miles door to door in 17 days ! Best of all no problems and only used a pint of oil !
Commering around the Pyrenees for 2 weeks in August/Sept 2016.
Commer heaven, no rain to show up those leaky vans and plenty of warm sun to dry your towels.
Oh and some vantastic scenery.
It's a must for anyone with a campervan.
Has anyone got any of theses seals left? I remember seeing a comment from the maker saying he had sold out? I'm not greedy, one pair will do nicely :-)
Hi Tim, I'm glad you noticed that. It must be the extra length of the inlet tract helping. Thats why I'm thinking of changing the cam for a Hunter or Minx one, I like the torque as she drives great but a bit more higher up the revs would be good too !
