That's a couple of crackin' motors you've got there. I was tempted by a CI coachbuilt on eBay 8 years ago, but it was the week we were moving house, and I really couldn't, could I?

    Jack repair

Fitting the new thrust bearing has made a HUGE improvement. :) Now dead easy to lift the van. As the top and bottom races aren't as thick, we'll just have to wait and see how long it lasts.

    Jack repair

Servicing the brakes today I used the suicide jack to get the wheels off. Lifting was more difficult than it should have been. Stiff, and a half-a-turn backlash in the handle. So it was time to have a look at it. I drilled out the 5 rivets holding the top on the gearbox. Inside there is a worm...

    Mirrors..

Sorry Paul, that was a slightly misleading answer. Now home, I've checked the box. They come helpfully in boxes of 4, complete heads with stem clamps. It's possible to fit larger heads. Like mine are 10 x 6 inch. You won't notice the extra drag while accelerating, and might even benefit while...

    Out and About

Sorry, rubbish photo taken against the light at sunset. Jim, before he moved out into the sticks, my son used to live just down the road from you in Whitehouse Lane.

In the Peak District at son's place. Unusually warm and sunny well into the evening. Nice to be out in Beryl again.

    Mirrors..

I have those mirrors with convex reflectors in them and don't have a problem with blind spots. If you have flat reflectors the field of view will be very restricted. I get replacement glasses from Big Wheels Services (truck parts suppliers) in boxes of 4 and they are quite cheap.

    Engine cover seal.

Forgot to say. I had to load up the lid with half a dozen breeze blocks for a week to get it to shut, but needless to say, a good tight seal;)

    Commer walk thru camper van

We are near Bridgwater, and like to drive down to West Bay. We often have fish and chips at the kiosk at the harbour. Ours is a two tone blue Commer PB Jennings Roadranger, as in my thread here .

    Commer walk thru camper van

Hi and Welcome. Is that the van I have often seen parked up a few miles North of Bridport? That's one hell of a space over the cab!

    You Little Beauty

It would be a good film extra vehicle. Box vans are used a lot to hide modern street items in period films.
