    Pair of Front Valances

The valances are no longer available; I've swopped them for Pootle's Owner's engine!

    Visiting the vans original owner!

Excellent pics. I regret not visiting the original owners of my van who was a similar age. They even owned a campsite!

    Bodywork repairs

Hey Cemlyn, you've come out the woodwork too! Hope you're good fella? I'm following Tony Guest on Insta. His work does look good, so he might be on my shortlist when it comes to applying paint.

Commer engine and parts free to good home (or bad even)...

Thanks Tony. If we're man enough to lift it into my boot without damaging ourselves or my car, I can take the complete engine! I'm about from next Fri onwards. Will give you a buzz you tomorrow, cheers.

Commer engine and parts free to good home (or bad even)...

Hi Pootle's Owner, I'd be interested in the carb, manifold and starter and anything else, but not sure I'd be able to take the complete engine. Understand if you'd rather not split though.

    Pair of Front Valances

Yes, I sort of remember driving back from Coventry with skin hanging off my finger o_O I think I may have accidentally tripped you up Panky.... Hope you're well; I do enjoy reading your fleet updates.

    Pair of Front Valances

Hi all, long time no speaky! Hope you're all well? I'm still about, those of you who remember me; I've lurking quietly in the background. I've still got my Commer (Tulip) and am re-finding my mojo to get her back on the road after body work activity taking a looooong pause. Will post pics of...

    A Little Bit Of History

That's brilliant! I'm kicking myself for not visiting my van's orginal owner who was well into her 90s when I made contact with her family... I fear that I may have left it too late now.

    1975 Highwayman

I cycled passed this one near Wigan when I did my Lands' End to John o' Groats ride. Looked like a big fat version of my own and at the time looked in pretty good nick.

    overheating,no guts, misfire when hot?

Panks me old mucker, where haven't I been? Actually, I've been nowhere and neither has the Commer. I've been making more babies. Meanwhile, the world's slowest resto continues.... at a snails pace. Hope all's good with you!

    overheating,no guts, misfire when hot?

Hi everyone ;) Long time no speak (Verrrrrry long time) Usually when it's an electrical problem you can tell, because power loss is sudden off/off, whereas with a fuel issue it's usually more gradual. But I've noticed myself with coil breakdown issues you can get the symptoms as described -...

    Carb overheating help

The intake part of the manifold is cut from the exhaust part and the resultant holes are plated over and welded up. I'm not too familiar with Martin's exhaust manifolds.

    Carb overheating help

My Commer did the same. Stopping after a long run boils the fuel in the float reservoir because as you say there's heat soak - lots of heat with nowhere to go. Quite dangerous really as it allows the carb to expand enough to allow the press fit fuel inlet pipe to work loose. Commeracer used to...

    My beautiful Wife

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss Martin, my sincere condolences. I never met Karen in person, but you've often mentioned her in your posts and sounded like a great lady.

    Maroon Malteaser Minibus

Great bus this and extra cool marks for being a mini bus and not a camper.
