Qu. I've taken the very sadly expiring rubber boot off. Any reason it was so substantive... Thick rubber and much larger than the base of metalwork at the base of the column. In making a replacement am I needing to ensure a) I don't touch the joint, b) is it heat protection from the engine...

After 60 plus years service... ... any thoughts on how to repair / replace this perishing rubber boot... ... current searches are, at best, taking me towards something off a tractor... Any smarter ideas... Perished at top on join to column, and at floor but screws... But pretty delicate...

I (had a) WOSP starter put on my 1961 a few months ago. Only due to it being a 1500 cc did it need fettling at the cogs, else would have been a very simple swap (so said my friendly mechanic...)

Is that storm damage that meant it's ended up hanging from a tree... ;)

Yesterday (also a true tale) I split my sewing box after sorting out a outfit for my daughter at school... and as it happened I instinctively shouted my preferred non-swear word... "Bobbins"... ...rarely apt, but amused myself on this occasion...
