you'd get there and find it's a Fiat and "loads of spears" isn't a mistype.

    Original Jack!

It took me ages to get a jack. I have just got one from Martin M though after a long wait for stock, though. Definitely don't bin it, working jacks seem to be a rarity and 'normal' jacks for a car etc don't have the reach to lift a commer.

    Is this normal?

Hmm, I was surprised at how good ours is at 60 or so. Holds a straight line nicely. Not great around corners but then I'm not expecting it to be I guess. It's not too bad though. Sounds like maybe something is up - the tyres might account for poor handling.

Bar across bulkhead .. can it be removed ?

Ace, I'll take it out and use it for a spot of amateur pole dancing

    Is this normal?

Ours isn't particularly bouncy. It's the only one I've driven or been in (or even seen up close) but it seems pretty solid on the ground. All original suspension setup. What tyre / tyre pressure are you running ? Ours are 195/70 R 15 C (commercial van tyres). Pressure is I think around 40 psi...

Bar across bulkhead .. can it be removed ?

Hi, Kind of mechanical ish .. Our van is an ex minibus (rounded rear corner windows) and has a substantial bar bolted to the door pillars, across the bulkhead, just behind the rear seats at about driver's shoulder height. Do all commers have this ? Is it for anything specific (other than just...

    1972 Commer PB

This is very interesting too - I'm 6'2 and obviously can't sleep across our van, so I'm building a bed to go in lengthways - the slatted expandable type. We'd considered using some of the cab space too with seats folded forward. I take it you don't have the bulkhead bar which runs behind the...

    whatzzitfer??

Had to crank my moggy minor recently when the starter motor stopped working. I concur with Panky's findings. In other news: Bought a new moggy starter motor. It hasn't arrived yet, but I' have shelled out the cash. Existing failed starter healed up and repaired itself almost directly after the...

Odd starting ritual: Balance resistor ?

Oh, maybe they're 9v then. All the writings rubbed off most of them, but they're from triumphs generally, 2500 and stag. I can check the coil wire voltage on my triumph 2500s to be sure :-) thanks for the info
