New van - need a bit of advice

I messaged him directly on here. He does the conversion himself and he keeps all the original Commer bits as part of the deal. I live in Devon so he is kindly going to send me the bits so my mechanic can do it etc. He is really busy at the moment but he is very helpful so definitely worth having a chat.

I’d heard of that conversion but didn’t realise there was a kit. Does commerracer have a website or do I contact through this site?

Out of curiosity, though it's probably a long way away at the moment, what's the process for an overdrive conversion? Can I add an overdrive unit or do I need an entirely new gearbox? I only ask because there is a convenient J-type on eBay and I'm thinking of buying it to add further down the line.

I know I'll need the electronics, shortened prop shaft and a mount.

The output shaft on a standard Rootes gbox is too long for a Type D or J overdrive. You will need to fit a shorter version. Sunbeam Talbot spares may have some if you go town this route.
