this topic is about 9yrs old now , I was just wondering if ur thoughts have changed on the additives as it's getting harder to find e5 t petrol here in Ireland , so do u reckon I should use the additives with e10 petrol , I had to throw a 5 er of e10 in last night sl I could on a test drive ,, seem to drive ok on the e10 without any additive added as I hadn't got any additive
 
The main issues with E10 are it's effect on rubber fuel lines (it breaks down some rubber hoses) so it's essential to make sure the lines are ethanol safe. I personally use Millers VSPe in all my cars it protects the rubber components, stabilises the fuel so it doesn't go off as quickly and there's an octane booster in it that gives a nice little extra go. If you do a lot of miles then it can start getting expensive but this bottle is enough for 10 tank fulls - I've still changed all the hoses for R9 ethanol safe ones.
There are other additives out there, and others may have their preferences, but I'll stick with Millers for now.
Make sure you buy the hose from a reputable source as there's some dodgy fake stuff out there.

is that just the fuel rubbers that need to be changed I could be wrong but I think all my fuel lines are metal , I will check it out, would I also have to change where u put the fuel into the tank . I think I will get the millers additive as 10 tank fulls seems good value to me , Also can a video be uploaded to the site ? I just want to get an opinion on how the engine sounds thanks panky .

Just the short rubber parts that usually connect the fuel pump to the metal line to the carb and the short piece that connects the metal pipe to the carb. The main fuel line from the tank to the pump is sometimes hard plastic, this is OK to leave in place. If the filler elbow has any signs of cracking or softening then replace it with an ethanol safe one. I got mine from Martin Maltas but not sure if he's selling them now, Speedy Spares of Brighton also supply them
 
I put a new fuel line in when upgraded the carb about 4 years ago and the pipe is like a solid pipe so needs replacing before it splits.

hi panky I bought the bottle in the picture it's a 250ml vspe powerplus , my ? is how much would I put in per litre of petrol or how much in a full tank of petrol , I have read online that u put in 1ml to a litre of petrol but yet on the back of the bottle it says even though this bottle is a 250ml that It will do 50litres of petrol , I just a bit confused , any help appreciated

It should say on the bottle. If not google it. My additive is 1ml/ltr and I tend to put 25ml in and put in 25 ltr to stir it up. I know that when my needle says 1/4 tank left I can happily get 25ltr in. I think it holds 40ltr but I could be wrong. I have also not bothered sometimes and my engine hasn’t gone bang. I don’t know what happens if you put too much in though.

hi soupdragon , I checked online and it said 1ml to 1ltr, but if that was right I should get 250lltrs out of a 250ml bottle yet the bottle says out of the 250ml bottle I only get 50ltrs which means 1ml to 1ltr doesnt work out, I dont know .

Maybe there is a misprint. If it has the funny bottle top that you squeeze the liquid up into it’s unlikely to be a misprint on the volume to add. So could be a misprint on total ltrs. You could always question it on Amazon or email the company. I would stick with 1ml/ltr and it should read 250miles

I was looking around the internet and spotted panky asking the same ? on another site apparently the mixture in the 250ml bottle is a weaker mixture than the 500ml bottle that's why u only get 1 full tank 50ltr out of the 250ml bottle and 10 50ltr out of the 500ml bottle , hopefully panky can confirm this when he see my post , thanks soupdragon for ur help
 
Ahh. 1 bottle per tank. That’s what I read on the Amazon question bit. Lol all a bit confusing but glad you got it figured out :)

14 euro a bottle , I will be bringing them back and get the 500ml , to be honest it all sound a bit dodgy to me , I will be getting onto the company about it , it's very confusing both bottles claim they do the same thing but who really checks out the ingredients, as I said thanks for ur help , I cant even go for a drive now as I was that frustrated I had to have a few bottles , beutiful weather here in Ireland
