HELP NEEDED URGENTon the side of the road with radiator emptied

If the tap for waterheater was turn off would that stop extra water fluid get into the system?

if the heater tap thing was turned of would that stop extra fluid get into the cooling system

It would stop the heater from filling up if it had been drained with the rest of the system.

You will have to run the engine with the tap open to pump the coolant around to fill the heater . You should see the level drop as the heater fills up.

Thanks panky just been having a look to see which way the tap is on or off in the manual as the pictures I post weren't great

The handle pointing straight up is open. as it was in the picture you posted a couple of pages back.

thanks panky , I have been looking at a couple of videos on how to remove air , what's ur thoughts on an upside down bottle with bottom cut out , put in top of rad with some fluid in it and start engine and bubble come up and release air at same time anti fluid is going into system,, I am probably making this whole thing more complicated than it needs to be

Just run the engine with the radiator cap off? This will let you see when the level drops, and allow you to refill

As John says start the engine up and run it with the cap off until you feel the top hose get hot and the coolant in the rad starts to steam (don't worry it's not boiling) . Top up as you see the level drop no need to switch off - but remember an leave a gap below the top of the rad to allow for expansion, I usually run the level about half way between the matrix and the filler neck. You can then fit the cap and run up to temp.
Let it cool off for half an hour then remove the rad cap and check the level. The slope won't make any difference don't worry about it.

Thanks john panky , I was less nervous about the birth of my child ,
