well had a go at it again yesterday and as soon as I try to tighten the clamp the distributor pops out of it . the new distributor neck seems to be wider which is stopping the clamp from gripping the neck all the way round . I am thinking of trying the old one again with the cap off the new one and see if it's ok. My other other problem is the old cap the faces straight at the engine and my new cap the lead come out the side , so I am a bit confused on were the leads go for number 1 2 3 4 ,here is a picture of the old cap with original leads and the new cap without leads , could anyone tell me were the they go on the new cap . I have put colour tape on new one so I can be told by colour which is number 1 2 3 4 on new cap , OMgod I confuse myself , I am thinking number 1 is the white colour number 2 is orange 3 green 4 red the way I have the caps is how they would sit on distributor so with there grooves cutouts ect . hopefully someone knows what I mean
