X-box... It Moves.. it really moves!!

Currently having first world problems... where to fit the switch. I have various options but all have their own problems.
1. Below the gear selector is perfect but I have issues then with wiring and mounting the control unit.
2. Where the old heater controls were, perfect for the control unit but not easy to get to the switch due to the gear selector.
3. dash binnacle, either to the right or below, doesnt look right.
4. Dash centre on the left of the binnacle. Will need the dash cutting and a panel making up.
Wherever it goes it also needs the warning light next to it.

Never trusted my mates Passat with a button handbrake, certainly when you were launching the boat down the slipway :)

I’m just a Luddite though :)

Looks lovely under there Paul, I don't get it though, are those steel arms pulling it on and off - clearly it's working but they don't seem to move any distance or is that enough? Also what's the thing behind that spins on the diff on the last pull at 12 secs?

The shoes are adjusted up so movement is minimal on the rods atm. I will knock a shoe out of adjustment for the next vid to show how the compensator works.
The spinny thing is the diff input flange

I once drove from Monmouth west past a village called Grosmont (should have worked it out). Van failed to get up hil first time. Hand brake didn't hold him as he rolled backwards and I struggled to find first gear (pre 6 speed)... That was a hill start I'll never forget!
