Out and About

Looks like it's design was inspired by the Commer...
 
A very unusual vehicle, can't really date it from the number plate as imported and looks much older.
Similar to the Commer in many respects, similar shape from all angles with the engine mounted in the front middle. Similar upper vent flap and rear log hits too
Would love to have one and adopt it into the club as a half brother.
Love the convoy light and rotating spot lamp top front and the headlamp bezels.
Steering wheel looks like it is out of the ark, very cool pleated engine cover and leather rear black out curtains in brown, with funky rear door catches
Any ideas on what it is? Opel? But looks very Commerish

Bet it's super quick just like my Dodge :-(
Two diff lock levers in the cab tho, it may be slow but can probably drive anywhere.

Well I'm off on a boys road trip to Eastern Europe Snowboarding tomorrow so will see if there is any interesting super rare stuff out there :)

Remember the opening scene in "Spy Game", the brilliant film starring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt? An UAZ was used when they try to escape the Chinese prison where Brad Pitt's characher is held awaiting execution..

What a bloody excellent spot Jostein. I did a road trip in the Summer and spotted some great stuff in Croatia but didn't spot one of these.
Road trip involved travelling from South London all the way up to Manchester so I could fly out into Dubrovnik for 6pm beers with the lads there on the Friday night only to get a call from the lads to say... "Hire a car and come get us, we're still in Montegenro"
A great road trip even though I was initially turned away from the Croatian border for not having a green card (the car log book) which after a 2 hour round trip back to the car hire company was in the glove box all along
Packing for Eastern Europe road trip now heading out tomorrow
Will see what rare stuff I can spot for you to identify

image.jpegOk Panky sand Jostein... Travelled 1200 miles into Europe and spotted this... I love rusty older vans but can't idenify this one. Still slightly hungover from the Absinthe bar in Prague last night, now moved only Slovakia..
 
Something you dreamed up when you got halfway down the bottle of Absinthe ;)
