Out and About

I spent a couple of weeks helping to cut hay up near Bodo (there’s a line through the o) top of Norway and just missed the longest day. Fantastic time. Mind you dark in the winter

...........................and here's another.

I should explain that in June, on our way back from the Arctic in the T25, we called in on Jostein and his lovely family in Oslo.

And thanks so very much for stopping by! It was lovely to see you both. I'm so honoured that you prioritised it. Please send all our love to your wife.

That photo reminds me of that big lovely bottle of lemonade in the cafe, Colin. Priced at four quid, a but pricey, but for Oslo - and a lovely sunny day - well, ok then. Just when I had spoilt myself, I was forced to having to accept that the four quid didn't buy me a nice 1 litre or so with nice lemonade, but rather a mere glass of it !
I should have known.

We have so many fantastic memories of Norway. We stocked up the van in Estonia, so we didn't have to buy very much in Norway. Jeez! That country is expensive. We weren't surprised to see thousands of Oslovites (is that the right word?) shopping over the border in Sweden. Never thought of Sweden as a particularly cheap country either!

Can I slip in a couple more photo please? then I'll shut up about it.

I love your pics recently drove over the Brenner pass, just into Austria, wow lovely!

We were invited to a party in Northwich, so we spent a couple of days bimbling up the A49 via Chepstow, Monmouth, Ludlow, Leominster, Church Stretton etc.

Friday night was a Britstop at a pub [edit] near a town called[/edit] Craven Arms, near Stokesay Castle. One of the most original 13th Century buildings we've seen

Here is the van parked (not overnight!) near a newly restored 12th Century church at Myndtown, right behind the Long Mynd

Saturday we Britstopped at a nearby pub.

............and went on to the party. Slept it off parked in a neighbour's driveway.

Straight home Monday morning. Great weekend.

I believe you're supposed to reference the Britstop number rather than the venue otherwise you breach their terms (if only we were so popular to make their monitoring list :))

Doh! You're probably right. I didn't mention the actual venue in either case, Craven Arms is the town, not the venue, and there are several pubs in the town, including the "Craven Arms" which has closed. But your point is taken, and I'll be more careful in future. [edit] and I've edited the post[/edit]
