you tube.

i got 60 out of Sky (just) lots of hills though. Poor thing as soon as the road started to climb she slowed down and a queue developed behind. Had 10 following us on one occaision lol:D:DShe cruises at 50 no problems. Had a bit of smoke coming from engine when got there on Sat. Not sure if oil burning off somewhere. Not so bad after we got home. Maybe some leaking and burning off somewhere.:(:( Trying to work out how many miles i get to the gallon. Did 80 miles and used quarter of a tank of petrol.[?]

Hi Barry, I've mentioned before somewhere about a throttle problem I had but I lost about 5o% movement. The cause was the front end grounding, when coming off a steep car park ramp, and bending part of the radiator ducting against cam on the end of the throttle spindle, worth a look.

Never strain the engine and freewheel down hills lol;);).

shouldn't that be never start
the engine and freewheel down the hills with that MPG?;)

Daren't freewheel too often in Bessie as need engine braking for hills in this area - there are a few paint scraped walls on the way into lower Fishguard where brake fade has claimed a few over the years[:0]

Panky this is now the first mechanical tip... mainly cos I haven't trawled the forum for others as yet! If anyone want to volunteer for a first pass at nuggets like this I would appreciate the help!
