Yorkshire weekend

Last weekend I met up with Sistervation and Rupert for a family weekend in the Yorkshire Dales with my parents who had just celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary, to visit some of our childhood holiday locations. Once Rupert had made it through the floods around Leeds, we met up at Malham.

Rupert had to work hard with 5 adults on board, up twisting 1 in 6 hills and down again without overheating his little drum brakes, but he didn't miss a beat.

Here are a few pics of the weekend.

This first one is simply chalk and cheese!

Wonderful scenery around Malham, I used to spend nearly every weekend up there when they had the hikers bar at the Buck, great memories and great sing-alongs with songs that will never be forgotten such as the wild rover. My girl friend of that time decided to match me pint for pint, but back at the tent she had to stick her head out to talk to Hughie. Next morning I was expecting peas and carrots all around the entrance to the tent but there was nothing, it had all gone, but the hens looked very very pleased with themselves and very full.:D

That was a very special trip, I bet Mum and Dad enjoyed it[^] Ah the memories of screaming engine (and kids), burning brakes and fevered brow:D
