Another great weekend, weather was hit and miss Sat. Heavy showers, mixed with hot sunshine, but cleared up for the BBQ. The downpurs seemed to coincide with visits to the 'museum', meaning we had longer to ponder my future projects.
Quite a lot of people called in for the day Sat, including Lanceolot, who travelled nearly 200mls, roundtrip, just to return his trophy [:0]Thanks. Not as many Commers as we would have liked to see, but plenty of enthusiasm :)
Had a run out on Sat, tried to see the unusual camper conversion that lives near me, but the owners were on holiday, without their Commer [V]
Sunday morning was dry and warm.

'Distance award' and 'Shed', went to Bigmonkeyman and his Autosleeper (260 miles). Didn't really warrant 'shed', but he was happy to take home 2 trophies :)

'Members Choice' went to my own Post Office engineers van and no, I didn't award it to myself :I

Another great gathering Martin!, thanks for the excellent hospitality goes to Martin & Co..:D

The weather was hit n miss but we dont let that ruin our fun eh!.A few vans in attendance, more would of been better!..Next time theres no excuse to not coming guys!, tut tut! [}:)]

Sunday morning we planned to restore the red mini bus back to its former glory.

After several failed attempts though to gain access to the doors through the man eating nettles, we thought it best left to 'mature'..
A shame, it is in need of major work really, some would agree it is probably beyond hope..

Was good to see all present, old and new.. look forward to hopefully making the next gathering of souls. :D
 
hi we just wanted to say a BIG thankyou to martin, karen and everyone else for being so friendly and making us feel so welcome. we had a great time, sam is still complaining about how he didn't want to come home. next time will def stay over - hopefully will have a camper to do it in :D

great to see the campers, fell in love with them all, all for different reasons. want one even more now. just seen latest addition to ebay but worried that it will need to much work - and down south again - argh:(

rupert, thank your wife again for the wonderful cake, have looked on blog but was unable to find the reciepe??

Cracking weekend, so good to meet up again with friends old and new. Thanks as ever Martin and Karen for being such good hosts [^]. Spend a couple of extra hours on the M62 (no I didn't get lost again) but home safe now.

Massive thankyou to everyone who made it to the event and to Karen and Martin for the hospitality and a great weekend. back home now after stopping off for Sunday Dinner and some fishing at Moya's mums. Finley missing Diesal, turbo and the other cat whose name we,ve forget (sorry).

Once again thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome on our first commer meet. Were hooked.[|)][^]:D

I'd just like to add my thanks for the warm hospitality and good company - it was a top weekend!

Particularly enjoyed the run, the idea of a gang of commers turning up at someone's house to see if they are coming out to play really makes me smile! The museum , workshops, garages and interesting things store were something to behold. I'm sure I saw the holy grail and the arc of the covenant in there somewhere :D

The trophies, made my day (even the shed one!)it has spurred me on to do a little bodywork, so I'll be picking at rusty bits now!

It only took me 4 1/2 hours to get back - I knocked 1/2 hour of the trip - it must be downhill to Scotland;)
Thanks again Martin, really nice to see you and the family again, and to meet up with everyone else from the forum. Mrs MonkeyMan is promising to post the cake recipe tonight.

What a fantastic weekend you all had. So sorry we had to miss it. I was looking forward to going to the New Forest at the end of September, but now it's moved to October, we'll have to miss that one too. I'm now going to cry in my whisky.
 
Nice to see some new faces join in the fun can't wait till martin & karen throw open the doors again ? maybe next year? Well done eveyone :ppic's are great :p

Sorry that we missed the weekend due to work but the Dora would not have made the journy [V] I had here out to day on a short run to a car show and on the way back she developed a knocking noise when I braked. I nursed here home and jacked here up to find a lot of pla in the N/S king pin :( all sent to try us but I am glad it happened on a short journey.
I am glad it was a good weekend and hope to attend the next on (I soptted an unusual Commer conversion today will post details in chat)

there were only two commers there that didn't live there! mine and marks (the white autosleepers)

The blue one is (un surprisingly) martins. Its a nice minibus which is now white and has had a starring role in Heartbeat (or the Royal?) driven by Prunella scales nonetheless! ( I think she crashed it when it was full of girl guides)

thats assuming I have my commerfacts right!

It was The Royal and then another mini series about the Yorkshire Ripper, The Ridings Trilogies - the bus is still in it's stage paint making it look old and neglected.
