Workshop

Must get down to my workshop more often, that's the problem with it being on the other side of town. Paid a visit today, only to find a 6ft x 2ft hole in the roof. One of the clear corrugated panels has been ripped off in the wind and it's a bit damp in there.

Did trawl on t'interweb today. Screwfix have them, but with a minimum order of 10. Local merchants (Kent Blaxhill and Ridgeons) don't have them listed, but I'm sure they stock them. Will have to ring round tomorrow and see if I can get one and fit it before too much more rain.

Another problem with a corrugated roof is when it freezes outside, then warms up, the condensation drips along the length of each corrugation.

Hey ho, will have to see if I can get the day off work on Tuesday!

Had the condensation problem in the BOTG so I set up and old desk fan on a timer to keep the air circulating - hardly any drips off the corrugated plastic now[^]

Insulation, vapour barrier, ventillation and a bit of warmth will usually sort condensation.

Had a bit of insulation delivered this week for my little space:

Very nice Baz. Unfortunately, although I am responsible for maintenance, my workshop is on a short time renewable licence, and I could lose it at short notice, so all maintenance is at minimum cost.
The upside is that my rent is very low.

I took the day off today and the roof is now repaired, however, the whole thing could do with being replaced.

According to the neighbour, my landlord (a housing association) had some surveyors looking at it recently as the gutter is leaking onto the neighbours garage due to the facia coming away from the wall plate. However, they won't touch it as the roof is corrugated asbestos (apart from the clear panels). It would have been nice if they had informed me!
