No idea in Aus but over here we have Vehicle Wiring Products, also Autosparks will probably have it too.

They do a purple and black wire which I presume is a 50/50 mix, rated at 16.5amp. This is general wiring for lighting systems, horns, alarms, side lights etc. They also export (probably at great cost)

Have you tried Jim Withers (JW Classic Car Parts) in Kilsyth, Vic; Or AutoSurplus in Melbourne? Both have some Rootes parts, either may be able to assist, .. not sure what the cost of freight would be otherwise from the UK for the cable especially if you need a quantity.

Jim in Australia does not handle bulk wire I went onto the Vechicle products web site and could not find their coloured wire list ,just a list of amps for straight wire.

Just been looking at their website, link as follows to the pdf catalogue that Terry posted a photo of >>

Not sure but maybe one of the guys on the forum (like Martin M, Woolfy, CommerJules .. etc) may sell them too.

Rootes used a lot of Lucas electrical products on their vehicles and the wires you quote are from Lucas standard colour range.

If I recall correctly , purple and black is for horn circuit and usually found on indicator/horn switch going off to horn.

In Lucas system main wiring colour is linked to purpose of the circuit and tracer colour helps by being more specific to component e.g. Blue = headlamps, blue/red = dip beam and blue/white = main beam, white for ignition fed circuits - If you look at wiring diagrams in Rootes Manuals you will see letters alongside each cable and then a key at side of diagram saying what colour each letter means e.g. R Red W white Y yellow etc

Hopefully you will find a supplier that sells old Lucas stuff[IIRC Ripaults supplied cable to Lucas in 50 yards or metre reels] or you can salvage some of cable from another wiring loom
