Wipers issue?

Hi,

Needed my wipers a lot the other day .... first time since like for ever but found they went a while then stopped and jiggling with the switch made them think about it but still no real action. Then later after a rest they were okay again... for a while.

Anyone know what this issue is??

First thing, do you have the heart shaped or square type dash? If it's the early heart shaped type then try swapping the heater fan switch to the wipers and see what happens.

Reckon it's square ( Bluebird having a heart one) with the wiper switch being a turn clockwise switch top right and the blower switch next to lights (both rockers); bottom right. But yes I could mock up a switch if needs be if the wires don't reach, to see if it's merely the switch. Not sure where I'd get hold of a proper one if needs must ....
 
Is it a combined wiper/washer switch? If you're lucky Martin M mighty have one.
 
The colonel has toggle switches for both too....i have no idea what Mr Bump has.... will start driving him soon!
 
Now that might explain why I've never found the washer then and that there's more movement in that switch than a click to the right haha. My other has a manual plunger washer in the dash..

Well I'm hoping to get up to Leeds to get a bespoke cover measure up for the Highwayman next month so if Martin is about I'd drop by and see what bits and pieces he has available :)
