Winter storage for Commers...solutions?

Having spent the last half an hour getting torn by brambles, bending my windsceen wipers and generally getting mighty peeved I finally got the JK cover on Duke in anticipation of a winter! If time and money allows I plan to gravel over a patch of ground next to the house and built a little shelter for him. This means that the van would get alot more use in the winter months as however way you look at it a cover always looks kind of permanent until Easter that is.

Do any other Commer Fans have really winning winter storage plans or is it kind of everyone Commer for itself...

Barn storage for mine. Nice and dry, well worth it. :)

But with a Highwayman, anybody would be stoooopid not covering it up. They all seem to have an appalling leak record. [V] That said, dry winter storage would benefit any Commer.

Its a Classic owners nightmare:(, inactivity can be as deteriorating as it is for us humans:I.
Much damage can occur from just sitting. Rubber can rot, upholstery can mildew, metal can rust, engine parts can seize, wiring can short circuit, paint can blister, fiberglass can crack, chrome can pit, brakes can lock up, and batteries can go dead[xx(]
We run our Commer all year but still don't avoid some the above:D
 
Mine remains in use but is always in a car port - I have heard that this is a good option due to the airflow that may not be present in some garages
 
Get yourself a barn, then you can have loads of room for storing other peoples Commers :D

It's not as low as I remember panky is this in it's new form since Jon sold it or do I just have a bad memory
 
I'd love a barn but my wife has agreed to a car port for next year, once I get the house and garden sorted...aaah.

Tigger doesn't hybernate! too big and anyway best advice of all is just use it all year round.......[8D]
