windscreen seals

Hi all, when i was at the London Classic show,i spoke to a guy who does rubber extrusions,(ooohh errr mrs)and he said that if i could send him a small piece of an old seal he would see if he could make up the complete seal, given the total length.
My problem is that i haven't an old seal except for the one currently holding my screen in. Would anyone have a small piece in reasonable condition that i can send him, please.
I am in need of one myself and i'm sure others do too, so if it's possible to get some made that would be excellent as speedy's supply has dried up.
Thanks a lot

Thanks Martin,i only need an inch or two so the guy can take the measurements of where the screen and the seams go etc.I can measure mine for length. It's not garrenteed he can do it but he said he would give it a good try.
If you could send it to me i will re-emburse you for the P&P or let me know how much and i'll send you a cheque first.
Thanks again

Hi Trev, I have measured the screen and surround, using a piece of string. See pic. I get the same size for both, I presume that is because one is inside, the other outside the string [?] It is 4240mm.
I have also measured the rear door rubbers, they are 1625mm.

I thought steve had tested new rubbers soon to be available from speedys?

Hi Admin and Martin,
Speedy's are supposed to contact me when they have report on new seal and have a date for supply from their new suppliers, but there's no harm in trying to source from elsewhere.
Thanks for the measurement and picture Martin,i will send off both and see what this guy comes back with.
Cheers

I'm feeling the need for a new windscreen seal too. Do you think it would help if I registered my interest with speedies?

I was in speedy's on monday.
Looking for seals for the front door windows.
And I'm sure they said they had windscreen rubbers in stock..!?
I might be wrong...???

But they didn't have front door window rubbers...any ideas on where to get replacements???

Hi Nancye, hope you are well. Which rubbers are you after? We are trying to get some 1/4 light ones made up.
I got some of the long ones from Ratsport, but they don't have the metal strip inside.

If it is the door aperture seal you need I seem to remember that Metro rear door ones do the trick, someone on here has them fitted.
