Windscreen rubber streaking!!

Not really Mechanical but annoying.

Each time I wash the van the windscreen rubber leaves dirty great black streaks down the cream paintwork. Any tips other than replacing??
 
did a google for rubber lube it sounds like you could ring them for advise,one product says it coats & dries in seconds iirc also seems common on boats,black streak remover is used.
had this problem on Sybhils rear windows [V]
possible cause is something used at the factory breaking down.

I guess the streaks a caused by the rubber breaking down, I freshened mine up by wiping them with thinners (very carefully:I) - you should have seen the black crap that was removed, and I don't notice any streaks now - mind you Harvey is marroon:I
