How did i know u were going to say that lol. I have bother uploading as all done from the phone. Could i not write it lol?

At mo im trying to get the e28 perfected, the van is getting a few toys added for the vaux shows, my new fez is getting kitted for the ford shows, the jag is also getting kitted plus a few imps played with and of course the commer is trying to be restored! These darn vehicles are addictive!!! :-(

Got 2 of these horrid Korean contraptions I got to flog on now the suns out. Ones had a absolute nut and bot engine rebuild as the bottom end went walkies...

I am building a back up generator for my home from bits found at my local tips metal scrap yard, as it now costs the shire to get rid of it they dont mind a bit of discreet scavenging. The challenge is to build it for no cost. The engine is a 12hp Robin, has good compression and only needed a bit of tinkering to get it running. The alternator is a 4kva and its original motor had accidentally been driven over by a tractor, The cool alloy fuel tank is also a tip find. Now to put them all together safely,:confused: Theres a few probs with shaft/flange compatibility so may need another alternator, but its a bit of electrickery fun.:rolleyes: I do love that electrickery stuff hmmmmo_O sparks ZAP ZAP,, lovely.

Great job. For really cheap running u want a wee diesel set up to run chip fat. Free running thdn ;-) Before my uncle died both him myself and I had looked at using the water coming down the hill behind as hyro power. Never got the details complete tho. Would have loved that sorted.
 
Looks like it could be a handy stand-by. I fancy a bit of geo-thermal power myself - now where's me drilling rig:)
 
The challenge is building it for free, running it for free might be asking a bit too much:confused:. but i will keep my eyes open for a diesel:). I have a friend here in OZ who runs his toyota landcruiser on old chip fat, so i could pick his brains. What i do have sitting somewhere in the shed is a Hydrogen cell that i made and fitted into my car many years ago. Although it didnt make a miraculous change in fuel economy it made a big difference on how the old engine ran, noticeably smoother with slightly better fuel economy. It could help with running costs a lot more on this much smaller engine and as it is a generator, powering the cell wont be an issue. We dont really get that many power cuts here but i do live rural and it would be good to be able to run the houses electric pumps in the event of a bush fire. and its also just a bit of fun in my spare time.:rolleyes:

I will post pics and let you know how i go with it.:D

All you need do is build your house ontop of a volcano;) save yourself all that drilling.
