Where to get exhaust systems?

Hi all,
Anyone out there recently replaced their rusty old exhaust system? If so, where did you get one from? Any leads would be appreciated, chhers:)

Commeracer chucked Ran's for chris and replaced with something else

and studiocommer has used part of a merc van system I believe

With the large numbers of Commers still in use, the owners can't all be getting custom jobs made up? Have a feeling there is still a 'high street' exhaust centre able to order the system from their records, but who?
I do have a local centre offering to custom build a system, but they want the van, as well as the old exhaust, and that ain't possible at the present!

Hi carcamper :D,Ran has an RC40,(mini system)she is quieter now as Tim has fitted a middle box too. From the engine down to the large bend is still original untill Tim fits the holbay. it is possible that I may have a useable one you could use to get copied if that's what you want?will have to check first though.

Hi Carcamper,
There was recently an ebay trader that had new old stock of commer exhaust sections, which were beyond my budget at the time which is how system from merc van and mk2 cavalier came about on my van.Bigger bore system did make a big difference in performance and economy, which was a happy bonus for a Blue Peter inspired system.

There possibly aren't currently enough commers on the road to produce new systems for them or even keep old ones in stock (sounds like more and more on the road this year[8D])Our local motor factor has said there is a shortage of classic parts available from their suppliers as specialist companies are buying them up to sell at premium.

Exhaust is a really weird shape compared to an average system because of mid engine and side exit, my fella Glyn had great fun matching it[:0]. If you check under 'services offered' commeracer can make up a stainless steel one for you. Good luck - you have my sympathies:)

i did ask about this a while back. i can make some up in stainless if there is enough interest(cheers admin :)) but it is involved to set up so i need to make a batch really .
the plan is to bend better fitting and flowing downpipe to be married up to a mini rc40 twin box system which is almost unrestrictive up to 125 bhp, but still silences well. these are available in good steel for £50 or stainless £125 i think. i should be able to do the downpipe for £50 i hope, so that gives an idea of cost [:0]
but its a system for life and will improve economy 10-15% [^]
and i dont need to have your van :D

Had a guy make a system up for me in 1.3/4" steel, certainly improved acceleration combined with K&N Type of air filter positioned in front of radiator. Just needs engine sorting, maybe Hunter GT or holbay for the future.:p:p

Hi Martin,
Is that simply a statement..... or an answer to my original question? Perhaps you just like to collect new systems!:D
