Wheels for the Commer

Hi was just wondering what type and size wheels people have managed to squeeze under the commer.
Whats biggest and how wide? ?
Also has anyone fitted coilovers to a commer ?

Just wondering thats all

Hi steve,do a quick search of forum should bring up a few things,sure people will put links on for you too,yes wheels can be changed but remember if you get a puncture & need to change a wheel can be tricky.

Dave Jones has fitted 17" alloys ;)
don,t know of any coil overs yet, but its the way to go :p

I suppose you could give it the VW Cal look, tub out the rear arches for large rear wheels, and then some smaller on the front, low profile.
GAZ shocks i think will make one off's, give in your old struts then they will convert them to coilovers.
 
Porsche wheels fit! I have a set of Boxter 5 spokes to go on next week:D

As soon as they are on I will post pics up and let you know how easy or nightmarish it was.

They are 16's with relatively thin rubber. Gearing should stay the same;)

Porsche wheels are a different PCD aren't they? Either way, I can't wait to see some pics with them on the Commer!
 
No they fit. Porsche wheels are 5x130 while commers are 5x127. Less than a mm per bolt. So with a little fettling they will go. As soon as they are on I will post up pics and a note on the fitment issues :D

Awesome, can't wait to see this! They'll totally transform the look of your Highwayman. I've heard you can get wobble nuts :I that can take into account PCD differences? Not sure if they'd be of any use in this application??
 
Ive been here before good luck wiyh fitting the porsche wheels but it aint goin to be easy you will deffinately have trouble with the off set;)

We're talking Highwayman here, Jon. The offset can be off the radar, and you'd still not notice it ! Sidewinds, though... that will make a difference :D
 
its the INSET thats likely to be the problem, you will have to space them out to clear the leaf springs ;) good luck :)

Thats what i meant tim your right but thats what they call it in wheel talk and measurements. I would imagine you will need at least a 50mm spacer to miss the springs on the porsche offset ;)
