Wheel Cylinders & Other Brake parts

Just found this website that sells New Rear Wheel Cylinders for the PB www.powertrackbrakes.co.uk very dear £48 delivered each but at least their new. And since my time consuming efferts with some wet and dry and a speedy repair kit have failed this years MOT I have stumped up the cash. Admin do you think they are worth having on the website?

My camper came up on the MOT computer as a 1983 this year and as the tester was such an un helpful chap decided to ingnore the Registration date. And preceeded to fail it on wrong backing on the number plates and emissions to high, So I have been in touch with VOSA and they are going to sort it. other than that we had a dim rear light and a funnypattern on the front N/S and aim to low on O/S. so not to bad wheel cylinder being the only thing that will cost me.
 
Bessie comes up as something bizarre and 80s - but more lucky with our tester so some common sense applied with the emissions etc. yours sounds like a right wotsit[:(!]- good luck with VOSA, hopefully they can bring him up on it. MOTs cost far too much to be mucked about on - especially if you end up having to pay for re-test[:0]

thanks for the info on the wheel cylinders - I was worrying about them! (mine are fine - but you never know)

I managed to find a good MOT place at the local Falmer Autocentre (formerly kwikfit) of all places. Turns out the MOT guy is a classic car fan and is doing up an XR4i. He was very sympathetic to the dodgy lights and the rust on the wheel arch (he said "I'll let you fix it this summer, but it should be done for next year")

basically its your money so take it elsewhere. If he hasn't done the job properly (i.e. got the vehicle details wrong and mis-tested the van) then he could loose his licence to MOT.)

I'm always bigging up Powertrack - have mentioned them previously on here. Been very helpful over the years keeping my van on the road - maybe not necessarily the cheapest, but 1st class service!
 
Got it through MOT today,;). Tester must of had a happy pill today! Much more normal for the retest, or somebody's had a word, I wonder if my chat with went further than I thought[:0] he adjusted my headlights let me off a missbalance on the front brakes and change the age of the vehicle on the ministry system. with out me winging at all:D so he goes for another 12 moths of commer use. I did promise him that it would look more respectable next time he tests it! Well we'll have to see about that one.
