I was goin to have a bash martin, thought id try and find a company to do them professionaly as you get a certificate for them. I mite try just 1 and see how it comes out.:)
 
hi greg your right about the safety issue so i gave them a ring. bandedsteels.com are licensed to make banded wheels and there sister company make them all day for hgv's and tractors commercially.(probably why there so dear![}:)]). you've made my mind up though greg im definitely going to leave it to the professionals thanks mate.;)

I have a friend who takes the centre out of the original wheel and rewelds it to a modern outer ring, i have seen many of the ones hes done including a morris oxford (moggy minor on steroids shape) running on 205/65/15 tyres, looks sweet as does the very early split screen morris i gave him which is running on wide metro rings. i think this route is much safer than banding. you can also choose the offset as to how far out you want the wheels sticking out!! he has all the run out dials and balancing machines to ensure all is true. can pass details either way.

The early bird catches the worm... but the early worm gets eaten first!
