What is the range on your van... Mine is 90-230deg F. Not so fussed about that... More than it never gets to 90 deg F. And I just can't belief that. It does flick when ignition turned so Jul e flowing through that circuit... Dead sensor or just lucky...

... We'll not that lucky. Lost the joy of 5th and 6th gear this morning. So a lunchtime of Diy (thanks Tim for the advice) and now not so far from home... But at least still away for the night...

Have you got a thermostat in? I think they are set to 82 deg C so if there's one in there, and the gauge is working, it should be up around the 180 F mark at least.
 
Pretty sure it does and Martin once changed the sensor. Worked at about that level on trip to Wales at Easter but not since. See a trip to repair it coming... Martin. Any spares...?
 
I'm glad you finished with "at least" panky cus jimmy runs at 200 pretty much all the time obviously once he's warmed up
 
The 180 deg is what the thermostat is set too so it should run above that. The lekky fan on Harvey is set to come on at 92 and off again at 88 and normally runs just below the 88 (on the run without a mechanical fan) so although yours isn't too bad I would consider a good system flush to be safe.
 
Righto panky, does that mean some sort of chemical or the good old fashioned hose pipe method? The radiator has got to come out to be repaired anyway as it has got a slight weep.
 
I'd give it a good pickle with Radflush or similar and then a flush out with clean water before you do the rad repair.

I'd do a bit of research as there are better products around than Radflush I'm sure.
 
Good idea I might even fire the question off to practical classic magazine as they love that kind of stuff
