What bhp will a stock axle handle

Getting the hunter engine ready to put back in my van with the su conversation and 6 speed box .
But ive been offered a 50hp nitrous kit and im happy the engine n box will handle it just not sure about the axle .
What power have people run through std axle ????
Im guessing it will make 130 ish with the gas on
Cheers phil

Tim fitted a Rover P5B axle and created a 5 link set up to mount it on Kermit, the supercharger Rover V8 Dodge. So that should be strong enough for what you need, same stud pattern as a Commer too:)

I've got a P5 axle to go on and a p5B one for spare, Tim is doing a stainless 5 link and coilover set up for my van. It should take the 400bhp that we are hoping to get from the 6.6 V8

Mine is dieing fast with a very guessy guestimate of 130BHP, graunchy and horrid, not sure how good it ever was to begin with though.

I ditched my old axle when I put in the V8. I found a diff (Holden one tonner) which had slightly smaller diameter housing tubing. I cut off the spring perches by cutting the tubing about 2 inches around the perch.

Then I just plopped it on the axle and measured the pinion angle and welded it on. I even flipped the diff that way but that involved notching the cross member over the diff nose.

Biggest problem I had was the diff being too wide.

The Rover axle is virtually the same track but the spring perches will need altering. No problem if you go 5 link thogh
