What a day

So, Knowing i had the day of i thought it would be a good chance to crack on with a little more work on the camper. On the drive home after nipping it to town for some well earned sustenance to see me through the day i notice the old blues and 2's in the rear view, not sure if its for me i pull to the side and i'm greet by a somewhat grumpy policeman under the impression i'm an uninsured driver. Well, after 20mils of messing around it turns out his machine had read my number plate wrong. So eager to get back and finally get something constructive going on i get back into my car only to realise i've just left my keys on the rear seat of his car. Theres a certain point of realisation and utter dread entered my face when it suddenly dawned on me the magnitude of what i'd just managed to do hit me which my other half seemed to read rather well. After a minute i decide to ring the station and see if i can get hold of him and see if he's in the area, Awaiting a return phone call i realise i'd chosen a rather inconvenient place to pull over, main road, double yellows covering someones drive. The realisation that the spare key is now trundeling along somewhere through spain on route to portugal with my parents on the belated camping trip brought no comfort to this predicament. To cut a long story short after a few more phone calls, a somewhat now sympathetic police officer and a mere 4 1/2 hour wait my keys were finally returned to me, the only silver lining to this murky overcast affair being that soon, preferably a few drinks later this would be rather funny memory.
This must be one of the better excuses for lack of work carried out on the van. lets hope tomorrow's a little more productive.

Thought i'd share :) as it's now a little funny :p

If it makes you feel any better I once drove off after a stop with my radio on the roof of the panda car. It was found over a mile away. I told the Sarge that was because I was such a smooth driver! Wondered at the time why it was so quiet out there that night!
