Whale water works

I have the old self pump Whale water system fitted to my van , which just confess I have never used. To stop the dull treck 4 dish water when away, I thought I would give it a go. Does anyone use theirs? On a previous camper, there was a valve underneath the van which could be opened to release unused water but I can't see it on this van. Is their one or do I have to pump away?
 
There's probably a pipe from the sink tucked away somewhere underneath the van, try pouring some water down the sink to see where it comes out - making sure there is actually something, under the sink,connected to the plug hole first:eek: But you will have to get a waste container to push under the van to catch the dirty water when you camping.
The 'fresh' water tank will be a bit minging after so long so a good flushing out will be needed, would even think about using it for tea and coffee.
 
Sink is fine and I always use a waste water container, I was thinking of a bung in the water tank itself so I could empty unused water without pumping via sink. Having tested just now...water seems clear but seal gone on wale pump and water everywhere when pumping. One function best left alone!!! You know me, I store magazines in the fridge so what can you do!!!
 
Ah I see what you mean:) They usually have a screwed plug in them but it's probably well rusted in:(
I thought I'd fixed that fridge:rolleyes:
 
We fitted a new tank to Clara and there is a drain tap fitted towards the rear of the tank. Can't remember if there was one on the old tank but I didn't fancy drinking water from a 40 year old plastic tank even if it was flushed out. We don't use the sink tap all that much. Most camp sites have washing up facilities so it's only really used for the first cup of tea in the morning or if we're wild camping.
