weird wired

Pull yourself together man, it's not the week end. Beer for week nights :p

I need to know my down pipes are in safe hands ;)

Had considered solar panel for recharging leisure battery

might give one a try and see what happens - mind you - a friend lent me an AA solar charger once on the campsite I lived on - put it out for 2 days and the batteries played my cd player for 10 seconds!

Find I work best with Wave Power:D

you must have a good quality battery as no amount of enviro mentally system will be any good [|)]be it wind, dyno, solar or any thing else.

me and chasbaps were looking at this

Looks like much better wattage per pound.:p would need to hear it was really good though as more money so if you do take a punt - be great to hear about it:D

Find my leisure battery usually lasts pretty well - only things I use that hammer it are a bit of tele and my invaluable 12v electric blanket[:X] Usually only stay 1 night anywhere before driving off again to top up battery - bank holiday weekend show at Croeslan is about the only time it has been somewhere and not needed to turn a wheel all weekend.

I need to get my head round how my leisure battery works, maybe studio you could look at my previous drawings of my wiring diagram?

or if they are not good enough try page 3

Looks really complicated [}:)] The split charge relay is to charge the leisure battery only, from the altenator, but not drawing anything from the service battery.
Any leisure items are taken off the leisure battery, so as not to flatten the service battery.
I have 2 solar panels on the 'Command module', approx 9" sq, they really don't seem to do anything. I have 3x 90ahr leisure batteries on that, but then there is enough space, you would have to leave the passengers at home, with a Commer :D

I can follow it so far - the 3 way switch behind the drivers' seat seems to be for switching charge between leisure and main battery and possibly option for charging leisure battery from mains?
Can follow diagram so far but can't see where on wiring diagram the leisure battery is so confess to getting lost at that stage:I.

Glyn is much more up on things so will show these to him and see if he can do a better job - make a change from the jukebox diagrams we have been tracing to fix a microprocessor 1977 Rock-ola - they are even harder to find parts for than Commer Vans!

This is Glyns' best guess at what is happening with your diagrams...

Rct is relay to stop voltage feeding back from leisure battery to main battery when engine is cranking and also disconnects main battery from leisure when van not running.

Charger is to charge leisure battery and run the fridge when switch TS1(switch in wiring diagram 2) in position 2.

Switch TS1 is just for the power supply to the fridge :-
Off - fridge off
Position 1 - to supply power to fridge from main battery when engine is running
Position 2 is to supply power to fridge from the leisure battery (not recommended for long as pretty juicy) or from charger when connected.

Good Luck................:)[8D]

I guess its kind of a home made 'Zig' unit you will find in most caravans..been thinking of getting my hands on one recently.
