Weatherproofing Campervan ?

Have a 1967 Commer Camper Van which needs weatherproofing-roof and underneath as well.Windowseals also need attention.Does anybody know a reliable garage or craftsman who could deal with this ? Tony
 
hello welcome on board. I'm putting my van under a cover under a carport this winter to keep her dry until the spring and I can sort the seals out properly!

The windscreen seals are supposed to be being remanufactured by speedy spares now, but I'm not sure if they have come good yet.

is your van a conversion like and autosleeper or a coachbuild (like a highwayman)? Piccies please!

Hi Tony, Welcome - nice to hear of another Commer out there getting some pampering:) would love to know more about your van if you have details/pics etc.

One thing that works well as a temporary waterproofing for rubber window seals is plumbers silicon grease - it helps keep water out to avoid any serious water damage to interior woodwork - is also inert so won't attack rubber. Helps seal and disperse water and o.k. to be applied in the rain if desperation dictates - have also used vaseline in the past for heavy rain emergency sealing which works well but a bit more blobby & gungy to get back off when dried.

If you have a rummage through threads there is one to see if there are enough customers out there to order up a batch of new window seals (not currently available) - will give it a bump for you shortly:)
