We are new..

Hi,

We found this site after looking for an alternative to a VW camper and discovered Commers :D Which from what we can see have far more character. From what we can see an 'autosleeper' is most suits us the best as we havent got room for anything larger ;)

We are in the Norwich area so if anybody has got one up for salse in roadworthy condition (or needs a bit of work) let us know

So go easy on us:p

Thanks

hiya, glad to see you have developed good taste :D commers are like the tardis compared to a VW and at the moment you'll get more for your money, keep an eye on ebay and www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk as well as this site, as commers turn up on these sites on a regular basis, good luck with your search [:X][:X]

Welcome!

A bit cheeky as I've only just joined. :)
There is just something about Commers that really gets to you. We absolutely LOVE ours.

Welcome - greetings folks :) hope the search proves fruitful soon, there seem to have been some interesting vans for sale recently.

Value for money assured compared to the VW, think you can only buy a headlight and 1 wheel nut for a splittie these days for the price you can still find commers for :D

good luck :)

Bessie - four star commerdation

well I had someone email us but havent had a reply to my request for pics and more info so we are still hunting..well its only been a few days:)

Patience, patience the right one will come you just have to wait. There are thousands of VW's out there but not quite so many Commers but all good things come to those who wait :)

From what we can tell is is a good one[8D]

We didnt really want a coachbuilt one though;) prefering an autosleeper-Mainly because we wanted we could use for things other than breaks away and I think it might be inpracticle to what our needs are.Plus the size of the thing there is a small issue over storage

However I think the Commer bug may have bitten and we dont actually care about the cons and get it anyway:D

We are thinking about it but not too sure..especially as we really wanted an autosleeper.

But Angela has fallen in love with it:p

Doesnt help when we look through the pics of the autosleepers but I suppose you have to take what you can get sometimes-we could always change later on

dont rush into anything, some things are worth waiting for :)

What a dilemma, a nice van but not quite what you want or need. The extra space in a coach-built is great but as you say they are big beasts and if you go back to a van conversion later you would really miss the space. I guess it all depends on what extra duties you want to use it for - the school run would be interesting and watch out for the goal post on supermarket car parks. As Tim says there are Autosleepers around and other van conversions out there, you just need to be patient - and they will come. Did you have a test drive? we want the details please :p
