Washer bottles.

My washer bottle is missing its lid and doesnt fit now due to the ducting so I'm looking at replacing it with something else. What has everybody used if not the original bottles?

I had to replace mine. I will have to take a picture next week when I visit mine. Got a rectangular bottle with a screw lid. Put a hole in the side for pipe with rubber grommet and works a treat. It lays on it’s side on a non slip mat in glove box bit I think it was a fuel mix bottle so it’s not that big though (about a litre)

Back in the 60s we had a washer bag, not a bottle, which was fixed on the nearside in front of the door. A quick look on Google and it appears that they are still available.

I’ve looked through a lot of Commer cab photos, and pretty much everyone has a different type of washer bottle. I’m guessing they become brittle with time and leak or break. What was the original like?

Well!
Finally found the source of the highly annoying rattle..
This very crude bracket for the reservoir!
Bottle cleaned up pretty well - it’s got some rust stains that I can’t persuade out.
I somehow doubt the bottle is original - it’s made in France according to the top.

Not original but looks fine, very similar to the one in Harvey. The bracket your bracket is hanging from is for the bag type reservoir but the one you have holds more liquid so I think I'd stick with that if you can sort the rattle out.
